!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! It's only $2000. And it has a V12. Please Opponauts, make a compelling argument for why this is a terrible idea. My resolve weakens by the minute...

Remember what your mom told you. "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

I'm going the other way. If you got the time and money go for it. These wont be around forever. Old cars are better than new cars on so many levels...not all but you know. Just get it. Know it won't be reliable as your DD.
GO ALL IN!

A cheap V12 Jaguar must be the mother of all bad ideas.
I want it.
How many good stories come out of good ideas? None. They all start with 'so, I decided to drive to Mongolia in a ratty Triumph Herald that I bought for £20 and a bag of chips'.

Not a bad 10-footer. If you want a $2k V12 XJ-S, I can't blame you. I'd be thinking hard about it. Make sure you've got an extra $3k or so save for repairs and that you know a good place to take it for said repairs.
Otherwise...um...LOVE!!!!!
I desperately want an XJS. But my preference is for the '90s 4L six. Salivation.

Cheap V12 Ferrari must be the father of all bad ideas then?

You could spend 2k on worse cars that people think are NP. I say NP all day every day of the week. And twice on sunday.
The v12 will eat itself if driven hard. The seals of anything and everything in that thing have given up the ghost. And electricals probably dont work. It has charm ok. As long as its not a rust pile, grab it and refurbish it as it starts to slowly drain your wallet. Or better yet, do a ford 302 swap in it with a 5 speed out of a fox body with some junkyard explorer heads and intake you will have one seriously nice ride. Enjoy and hoon.

The great thing is these NEVER BREAK DOWN! You literally can push it anywhere! The only rubber you'll ever have to change is your shoes, only fuel you need is water and cheeseburgers. Plus, you don't have to go to the gym anymore, since the trip to and from work pushing this thing is all the exercise you'll ever need!
But seriously, you haven't bought it yet?
